Wifi in Kit Carson

I have stopped here in Kit Carson, Colorado simply to take my 8 hour break before delivering in Pueblo. Got parked and was pleasantly surprised to find some kind soul had left his linksys router open for easy access. Though this is the second time I have written this post… I am new to WP and clicked on the trackback link at the bottom of the write post tab which took me to the help file about trackbacks. Well, if you aren’t familiar with moving away from an unsaved page….. I lost all but the title. Sigh. Anyway, since I was able to connect via this kind souls wifi, I decided to blog, check email and all that other fun stuff. I’m recording TV via Snapstream’s Beyond TV and then need to jump into the Sleeperberth for 3 AM comes early! Yes, that is when I will get 8 of my needed 10 back, required by the DOT Hours of Service rules. I will then deliver and if all goes as planned, pick my new load up in Denver. That load will take me to Kennewick and on Monday after I deliver that load, I will be going home for a few days.
I had asked for time off around the 29th – 31st, for my wedding anniversary is on the 30th. But my dispatcher asked if I wanted to go home early since he would have to take the load off of me otherwise. It is difficult for load planners to keep a driver in his home area for just a week and keep it profitable.
Since I have had to re-write this I am now feeling the exhaustion, set in. I had written a comment about marriage and trucking, and how most trucking marriages fail. And how ours is really not an anomaly, being we will be celebrating our 12th anniversary . There are quite a few drivers who have been married for 30 – 40 and upwards to even 50+ years while pursuing a career in Trucking. It all depends on how you live your life out here on the road. For your loved one will be able to tell if you practice the art of chasing skirts while you are away from home, as with any other marriage. But, I’m to tired to finish that line of thinking.
I’m looking forward to getting out another podcast this weekend. After I get caught up with this load and have a chance to clean up. I’m planning on giving some feed back to TruckerLlews 10-15-05 podcast where he commented on a voice message I had sent him. But it is to the Sleeperberth I now head.
