I’ve just left home and am back on the road again but before I left I noticed that CDH is closing its closet door. It really angers me that all the steps taken to try and lock down intellectual copyright (Archive.org, RIAA, DMCA and the European Copyright Regulatory Bodies) have led to Sam Whitmore’s decision to close the doors for good. He states the reasons why in his last podcast and though I will miss this channel to the Dead I would like to take this time to encourage you to go and vote for CDH over at Podcast Alley. I personally would like to see this great podcast about a band that I first didn’t get but later have come to fully appreciate go out with as much impact as possible.

Luckily, at least one member of the Grateful Dead has stepped up to address the initial move on Archive.org’s part (Phil Lesh), but I am completely stunned in how these regulatory bodies are working to completely sever any type of bond the copyright holders whose rights they are trying to protect, have built with their fans.
