The limits of wireless net neutrality

I have blogged and shared this story in my podcasts and tried to “digg” it with little success of garnering interest since my EVDO account through Verizon was first terminated on May 31st. This is the first time and to be frank, I’d be more than happy if it was the last time I was this closely connected to what I see as a potentially major paradigm shift. Thankfully The limits of “unlimited” EVDO and 3G Net Neutrality: A Pipe Dream
are keeping the story alive and are connecting it regardless of its veracity with net neutrality. The latter states incorrectly that the Telecoms are required to observe network neutrality in it’s delivery of data. Though this is not entirely accurate, there has been a general observation of neutrality in a gentlemans agreement sort of way to this point. At the time I dugg this story I got a total of 7 diggs. Apparently someone has wisely married the larger concern of net neutrality with the lesser but more common tyrannical control over content and services wireless carriers wield. Wireless is not as ubiquitous as it is commonly insinuated by technology pundits. But it is the wave of the future, where we will no doubt be able to connect to devices and services from nearly any populated area in the world. Definitely a good reason to keep this on the forefront of present stories so that whether there is multi-tiering or not it will be delivered in a fair and equal manner keeping this newest frontier the domain of the common man and allowing free speech and thought to be easily communicated no matter what walk of life one inhabits.
