Boing Boing: URGENT: Podcasters act now to stop anti-podcasting UN treaty!
Are we getting a bit jumpy here? I don’t think so. I have personally been stung by TOS problems and have noted the change many providers have adopted to tighten up availability of access to the net. Net Neutrality (or whatever you want to term the throttling of and the discrimination against certain bits of data) is steadily moving forward to meet its premature and untimely death. Apparently, according to Corey Doctorow, “The webcasting (presumably as well as the broadcasting?) right will break podcasters’ ability to quote and re-use each others’ work (even CC-licensed works), and other video found on the net.” Its definitely past time to act!

Hi Curtis,
This doesn’t look good. But on the other hand, how much luck has the UN had in pushing their treatys on the US? I know they are pushing a small arms ban ( Guns ) for civilians world wide also. That hasn’t gone anywhere.
Thanks for bringing us the news! I will have to look into it more.
Happy Trails!

Lets hope this goes no where as well and they continue to be ineffective. Regardless, it doesn’t take much effort to add our 2 cents worth. And yes, definitely research it.
