I really did have that thought uppermost in my mind as I heard my wife had adopted a few Manx kittens. We have Linux (formerly named Linus) and Otis and are “baby” sitting another named Hisser. I have spoken with other truckers who had pets and especially with cats, it is best to get them young, so they can become accustomed to the ride. After spending a bit of time with them I definitely find them absolutely endearing and would love the company….But there is the downside of the constant upkeep of dealing with the litterbox and feeding them.
Ferrets I understand, do make marvelous pets, and clean animals as well. I have heard of drivers with Skunks and of course I got photos of the one driver who had the two parrots. A whole different aspect to the driving lifestyle, that is for certain.
Thanks Sooz, its good to hear from you. I have to agree with you, they are adorable. I’m not much of a pet person. Mainly ’cause I’m just to darn lazy to want to take on the responsibility of caring for them. But the longer I am stuck here at home the more the temptation is to take at least one of these little fur balls out on the road with me!
