I came across this Crosswalk.com - What Came “After Jesus?” CNN’s Take on the Question while searching for information concerning said special program presented on CNN this last friday and running through the weekend. I saw the promo for the special being run while eating breakfast at the Barstow, Ca Flying J. I have seen many of these specials through my life and as this article points out, the “experts” they interview and source for these feature films are always of a skeptical nature. I am fine with this since I do advocate skepticism, and also as noted in the article at Crosswalk.com the information for public edification is not of the evangelical type but from a secular perspective. Or actually though not stated outright, a more critical and unbiased approach. And that last is where in lies the root of my complaint about this type of film. If it is truly to be balanced it needs the input of those who are truly noted evangelicals, and what would be best would be a representation from those from all walks of christian faith.
Ok you might say, “Wait a minute there Curtis”. That would take an incredible amount of time to get statements from over 33,830 Christian denomiational representatives. I have to give you that. Time constraints might make that difficult if not impossible. But it would be nice to actually see an actual accounting of a sampling of these 30,000 plus. It would certainly make it believably reach its goal of being a balanced investigation into the subject.
